travel: June 2008 Archives

I just got back to Huntington from the Chicago Wizard World comic convention; I had an absolute blast. Look for photos in the coming days.

We can't stop here...this is bat country

So the trip started around 9pm on Wednesday June 11th. My friend Casey and I set out on this journey from Clendenin and started towards Princeton to pick up our other adventurer Jessica who we will lovingly call Dragon for the rest of the story. After picking her and all of her gear up nicely in the PT Loser (sorry Casey, its for the story) we were on our way to Manchester TN for the concert of our lives...Please click the read more link!

So after finally being back, getting some rest and a few MUCH needed showers, I have finally posted my Bonnaroo 2008 pictures. You can get to them by checking out the photos section on the left side of the page or by clicking the slideshow below. I know a lot of the pictures are blurry but I was using my 'digital zoom' on my camera and there is also the fact that most of the time (especially during shows) I was standing in the middle of an 80k+ person crowd. I hope you all enjoy these pics 1/100th of how I enjoyed the actual show. I am going to start a more detailed experience entry with related pics and anecdotes sometime very soon so keep an eye out for that.

And remember "We can't stop here...this is bat country."

Ok, made it back from Bonnaroo. Stay tuned for a quick slideshow of my pics and then a more detailed write up of my adventures. It was amazing to say the least.

So I leave tomorrow evening for the relatively short drive over to Manchester TN for the mecca of new age hippie festivals...BONNAROO! Easy packing: a bookbag with shorts, shirts, undies, socks, poncho, sunscreen and babywipes to keep clean.

After being a fan for 15 years, I finally get to see Metallica (yes its a weird festival for them) live for the very first time. I also get to see Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, Willie Nelson, BB King, Phil Lesh and even Robert Fucking Plant. Plust great comedians such as Louis CK and Jim Norton. I'll try to find some sort of internet access while I'm there to update and if not I'll get photos posted to picasa ASAP.
